Hi my name is Lena Capece (pronouns: she, her, hers). I use the geochemistry of sediment and organics to answer questions about biogeochemical cycling (biotic and abiotic mechanisms) in coastal and aquatic environments. Specifically, I investigate the cycling of nutrients and the pathways of organic matter decay, and how these processes in modern environments can be used to tell about the past. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree at UC Davis in the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department and Bodega Marine Laboratory where I work in seagrass meadows. You can typically find me outside either reading, working or adventuring.
