Welcome!
I am a coastal marine scientist studying carbon and sulfur biogeochemistry at the land-sea interface. I hold a M.Sc. in Geology from UC Davis where I worked with Dr. Tessa M. Hill in the Ocean Climate Lab studying carbon sequestration in seagrass meadows in California.
I am currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth Science at UC Santa Barbara working with Dr. Morgan Raven in the Raven NOISE Lab. Broadly, my research investigates sulfur-carbon interactions and how different environmental factors (such as redox conditions, organic matter reactivity, iron availability, habitat type, sedimentation, tidal inundation etc.) impact them.
This research is at the forefront of climate science and has implications for management and restoration of the coastal zone.
During non-work hours you can typically find me outside running, climbing or surfing--generally frolicking in nature.
